Reporting an error
Errors of fact are the most useful thing anyone sends. A report is quickest to act on when it includes the page, the sentence or figure in question, and the source that contradicts it. A citation, a data sheet revision or a link is enough; a correction cannot be made on an assertion alone, because that is the same standard the article itself had to meet.

Questions about an article
Questions about a mechanism, a figure or the scope of a cited study are welcome, and they often show where an article was unclear. Where the answer belongs in the article, it goes into the article.
